Sunday Mini Travel: Hipster Food and Jakarta Old City

I can't believe Indo museum can be this good!

It's been long time since I travel this dear friend of mine. We along with another friend had traveled to lots of places since university life (those debating time...). After she got a job, she went to another city for some months, thus we're unable to catch up physically. Now that she's back in Jakarta, we made time last sunday and spend the whole day doing some 'mini traveling' around Jakarta. :P

Gyros Alley

We started our venture by having a 'grecian' lunch. As we have being eyeing this place ever since being trendy on social media, we decided to try their food. :)

Museum Bank Indonesia

After lunch, we need to burn those fats. So we decided to do some venture at Jakarta Old City. From the resto, we walk to take the bus and got down at Kota tua (old city). There's a lot of museum over here, we went to Bank Indonesia first and did not expect to be blown away!

I Love it's typography metamorphose <3 td="">

After finish circling around Bank Indonesia Museum, we think that it would be nice to walk until the harbor of Sunda Kelapa. An architect friend of mine said that Jakarta Old City was designed as such to enable you to walk from the center until the harbor. We checked on the map, from MBI to Sunda Kelapa is approximately almost 2 km. Given that we have walked farther, we can deal with 2 km hahha. But before walking to the harbor, we visited this hipster cafe to get a drink first. :)

Pelabuhan Sunda Kelapa

Please bear in mind that the road although not that far for us, but it is creepy...
Along the road, both of us keep holding our bag closely to us worrying somebody might grab and snatch it away. :S So, if you want to go here, I suggest you to be careful. Alternatively, you can go through roads that are more crowded but farther. This is what it looks like when we arrived. :)

Lots of people are doing some photo shoot. There were small boats which offer you to circle around. However, the sea is just very very dirty and smelly, toxic even --'. We don't dare to try the small boat hahha. From there, we walk back before the sun set. This time we went to a different road. We passed Museum Bahari and VOC dock but didn't get in for it's no longer open anyway. Then we passed this red building called "Toko Merah". To our dismay, it's just a building where you can't even get in --'. However, if you're interested in vintage cars, the rental is just in front of the building. From here, we walk back to bus stop and went home. What a mini traveling day! ^^

Till next time! :P
